Echo simulation of non‐spherical ice crystal particles for airborne weather radar

Aircrafts encounter ice crystal particles during flight, which can easily cause engines icing or even damage, so the detection of for airborne weather radar is very important. In view particle echo simulation still vacant problem, and in order to provide high-fidelity data, an method non-spherical proposed this study. Firstly, spatial distribution characteristic parameters are obtained from simulating scenario with Weather Research Forecasting model. Secondly, scattering amplitude matrices received by T-matrix electromagnetic calculation method. Finally, realised using meteorological equation. The results good agreement real observation data have validity reliability.
